Mirai is Japanese for “the future,” an appropriate designation for a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle. A product of 23 years of development encompassing 5,680 patents, the Mirai combines hydrogen and oxygen to make electricity, while emitting only water vapor. It currently has the highest EPA estimated driving range rating of any zero emission electric vehicle on the market, at 312 miles, and offers an EPA estimated 67 mpg equivalent for city and highway driving combined.
