The FCX Clarity was the first fuel cell electric vehicle available to customers that was built on a dedicated platform. Never offered for outright purchase, the Clarity was leased exclusively in Southern California, Japan and Europe. Like other fuel cell vehicles, the FCX Clarity employed a hydrogen fuel stack that converted compressed hydrogen and oxygen into electricity. This design allowed for a 240 mile range, quick refueling and emissions of only water vapor.
